The most striking element of the work, besides the combination of oil and acrylic paint on
the same canvas, is Peroli’s imagery. The painting features a dominant central form rest-
ing in a monochromatic field. The size, shape, and location of the forms, as well as the
texture of the surrounding fields, exhibit restless variation.
