Romanian artist Miron Schmuckle creates highly detailed organic compositions with india ink and pencil on paper. The paintings evoke the imagery of 17th century botanical encyclopedias and Dutch vanitias paintings. The forms pictured resemble recognizable flora and fauna, but upon closer inspection one realizes that these are alien organisms unlike anything we know on Earth. These inventive works are sensual, fantastical and undeniably seductive.
