Hope Sandrow is a conceptual mixed-media artist whose work takes the form of still photography, video, installation, performance and new media. The proposed purpose of her work is to represent the natural history of daily life, which includes investigations and discussions of nature, science, identity and culture, among other elements. The works in her “Waterlife” series powerfully engage with the notion of the sublime in nature while exploring the mythology of water as a physical and spiritual cleanser. They are entrancing ethereal photographs whose blurred kinetic forms and subdued luminescent colors hint at the presence of animals and other phenomena within water, land, and sky.
