Since finishing graduate school, Danica has obsessively kept track of every
financial transaction in her life. She has saved receipts and kept illustrated diaries detailing
each exchange of money. Phelps has transformed this visual trail of her money earned and
spent into art. She creates sculptural works out of stacks of receipts and makes drawings
and paintings of bills, letters, and other ephemera.
