Chad Person

The works in Chad Person's 'Tax Cut' series are intricate figurative collages made entirely from American dollars, the sum total of which he claims as material expenditure tax deductions. These meticulous images of war machines interrogate the excesses in government defense spending. The artist has attracted quite a bit of controversy for his defamation of American currency and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for some shotgun sculptures he made in 2011.
