Multidisciplinary artist Kimberly Hart often explores issues of identity formation and gender expectations in her work, frequently aided by the assumption of an alter-ego. As a child Hart was unable to relate to many of the activities young girls took part in, so as an adult she has decided to explore some of the things she skipped the first time around. Her 'Aquatic Traps' are whimsical ornamental reinterpretations of utilitarian buoys, made with intricate macrame knotting techniques.
